Upcoming Events

Ultimately, networking only truly occurs face to face. You can exchange emails and tweets all day long, but you won't know them until you spend a little time making human contact.

For this reason, I run real, live, in-person events, including Stone Soup Monthly Shindigs, workshops, and other events where you can meet the people I meet. This page will be updated periodically with event information.

Stone Soup Monthly Shindigs
Every month, the Stone Soup Network runs a networking event at various locations. They are free events, often run at places with food available for purchase. If you are interested in hosting a Shindig, contact me. We are always looking for new venues.

Upcoming Shindigs:

Tuesday, August 21st, 2010, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Thursday, July 29th, 2010, 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Community Room of Burger King, King Street, Northampton, MA
If you are unsatisfied with your current career, perhaps it is time to take an inventory of the other skills you already have. Too many people think of work as something you do for a big company, living at the mercy of their choices. More and more people are discovering that they can make a living doing things that they love. No matter what you love to do, be it gardening, filing, drawing, running, or anything else, there is someone, somewhere in America being paid to do just that. In this workshop we will discuss strategies to turn your passions into possibilities.

Raising Financially Literate Children

Forbes Library Community Room, West St, Northampton, MA
In school, children learn reading, writing, and 'rithmatic, but very little attention is given to one of the most important life skills: financial literacy. Untrained and unprepared, young people enter the world of credit cards and advertising and get taken for all they are worth. In this workshop, Michael Whitehouse, Professional Problem Solver, will discuss strategies for preparing your child to budget, plan, and avoid
